Who is obligated to notify?

1. For any significant spill or release the following are required to immediately report such incidents: Owners, Operators, Persons in charge and Employees. Notification Reporting is required in any case of a significant spill or release from facilities, vehicles, vessels, pipelines and railroads.

2. California State Law requires that handlers, any employees, authorized representatives, agents or designee of handlers shall, upon discovery, immediately report any release or threatened release of hazardous materials (Health and Safety Code 25507) Note: Check with your local state laws

3. Under Federal Law reporting of spills or releases is required for all releases that equal or exceed federal reporting quantities. Owners and operators are required to report to the (EPCRA) and any other responsible personnel in charge, are to report to the (CERCLA).
